Reactions to bodies discovered in Kware dumpsite

Leaders, Kenyans and several organisations are expected to keep reacting to bodies found in the Kware dumpsite on Friday, July 12, 2024.

According to a statement issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, six bodies had been recovered from an abandoned quarry in Kware.

In addition, the DCI found that all six bodies were female and they had all been murdered in the same way. Further, the Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin, revealed that the bodies were severely mutilated and in various stages of decomposition.

“Earlier today at approximately 1100hrs, the Embakasi Division Police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) responded to an urgent call from the public in the Villa area of Mukuru kwa Njenga.” 

“The alarm was raised following the discovery of six severely mutilated bodies, all female, in various stages of decomposition,” Amin noted.

It is reported that more bodies were later retrieved from the site which has now been declared a crime scene.

Power outage

Kenya Power has notified its customers in two counties of a power blackout on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

According to the statement from Kenya Power, the interruption, intended for network maintenance, will disrupt multiple regions in the affected counties, and the temporary power cuts will be experienced at different times throughout the day.

“Interruption of Electricity supply, notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules. That the electricity supply will be interrupted as here under (It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically in order to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power lines during road construction,” Kenya Power stated.

Although temporary, the power blackout is expected to impact various sectors and activities in the affected counties significantly.

Places set to experience blackout: Marenyo Health Centre, Ahono, Rabuor Mkt, Sagam Hosp, Rawa ACK Church, Midhine, Lihanda, Jina Gongo H/Center, Olengo & adjacent customers.
