Judge orders probe into Kibor’s will

By , January 25, 2024

The fight over the distribution of the multi-billion shilling estate belonging late Uasin Gishu politician Jackson Kibor has taken a new twist.

This was after the High Court sitting in Eldoret ordered that the contested will produced in court by the deceased’s widow Eunita Kibor be subjected to forensic examination within ten days.

In his ruling yesterday, Justice Reuben Nyakundi directed that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations be at liberty to secure any samples, tools, and writings from the deceased’s estate in collaboration with his youngest wife, lawyer Joan Korir, the drafter of the contested will.

“I order the directorate of criminal investigations to conduct a forensic document examination on the original will and file a report on February 26, 2024 for scheduled status conference of the case,” ruled Justice Nyakundi.

Kibor’s 27 children and two widows have ganged up against the youngest widow claiming the Will she produced in court did not reflect his wish.

They have rejected the will which the fourth widow, Eunita Kibor had defended claiming it was a genuine document left behind by the tycoon.

According to the children and widows, Kibor was not of sound mind when the will was written and that the document was made under dictated instructions which neither represent his intentions nor wishes.
