Jubilee party’s Joseph Githinji has emerged the winner in the recently concluded Muguga ward by-election.

Githinji garnered a total of 4,089 votes to beat UDA’s Thumbi Kamau who managed 4,062 votes.

The vote pitted four aspirants; UDA’s Thumbi, Githinji from the ruling Jubilee Party, PPK’s Peter Njoroge and Mumbi Moses Gicharu from Thirdway Alliance.

Githinji exuded confidence in succeeding the late MCA Eliud Ngugi during the polls held on Thursday, July 15.

Addressing the media earlier in the day, Githinji said he was ready for the outcome of the decision by constituents of Muguga.

“I will be happy if I win the seat, if not I will concede defeat,” Githinji said.
