Kipruto Arap Kirwa, the defunct Opposition coalition chairman, has confirmed that the Jubilee Party is part of the opposition.

Speaking on a local podcast on Saturday, August 9, 2025, he stated that Jubilee is an integral member of the opposition and one of the six parties forming the coalition he is part of.

“I want to assure you, Jubilee is an integral member of the opposition; Jubilee is one of the 6 parties that form the coalition that I am part of,” Kirwa stated.

He added that they are awaiting Jubilee’s wisdom, support, and guidance on the direction the country should take, noting that in the best interest of time, the party should be allowed to decide how it prefers to proceed.

“This therefore, means that we are waiting for their wisdom, their support, and their direction in which they want this country to move, and I have a feeling that, in the best interests of time, let’s allow them to make a design with how they prefer,” he added.

Kirwa revealed that Jubilee had told Raila Odinga that the only way they could engage with him was if he stepped away from the other side of the broad-based arrangement.

“I have realised they told Raila that the only way we can engage you is if you leave the other side of broad-based.” He went further.

Upcoming Jubilee NDC

He further noted that a meeting chaired by former President Uhuru Kenyatta had already been held, and another, the National Delegates Conference (NDC), is scheduled towards the end of the month to decide the path the party will take.

“They held that meeting that was chaired by Uhuru, and there is another meeting that they are going to hold towards the end of this month; that is NDC, which will be making a decision on which path to go,” he concluded.

This comes days after its party leader, Uhuru Kenyatta, held a meeting with the party’s top leadership. This also comes days after Uhuru’s visit to State House, where he was seen having a light-hearted moment with President William Ruto, drawing mixed reactions from Kenyans
