Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

CSPOC

Today marks the last day of the 27th Commonwealth Speakers and Presiding Officers’ Conference (CSPOC), taking place at the Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo in Kampala, Uganda.

Participants include speakers from the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), the East African Community (EAC) Parliaments and legislative bodies from all Commonwealth countries across the globe.

The conference began in earnest on January 4.

Chennai Marathon

The 12th edition of the Freshworks Chennai Marathon will be held today Saturday with over 22,000 runners expected to take part in the event.

The marathon is the second-biggest race in terms of participants in India and will comprise four events for men and women including, a full marathon (42.195 km) – the flagship race of the event, the perfect 20 miler (32.186 Km), the half marathon (21.097 Km) and the 10 km run.

The Chennai Marathon attracts athletes from across the globe. Last year, Kenya’s Brigid Jerend Kimitwai won the Chennai women’s full marathon.

KPL

The Football Kenya Federation Premier League resumes with five matches lined up for today.

Bandari will take on bottom-placed Nzoia Sugar, Nairobi City will be up against Talanta FC, Police FC take on Kakamega Homeboyz while Shabana clash with Muhoroni Youth.

The most anticipated KPL game today is the Gor Mahia Vs Posta Rangers match. A win will see K’Ogallo extend their lead on top of the table by 8 points.

Second-place Posta Rangers seek to tame Gor, a win for them will see them reduce K’ogallo’s lead by 2 points.

Gor currently sit on top of the KPL league with 34 points while Posta Rangers follow with 29 points.
