Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Thursday, May 15, 2025, met members of the Matatu Owners Association (MOA).

The wiper leader revealed that in particular, they delved into the insolvency of the association’s insurance firm, assuring the members that he will do everything in his power to ensure their voices are heard and legitimate concerns addressed.

“Among the several chilling tribulations and frustrations was the matter of Invesco Assurance Company Limited, an insurance firm largely owned by MOA, which was forced into insolvency in February 2023.
“I will do everything I can to make their voices heard and their legitimate concerns addressed,” he said.
Kalonzo’s meeting with Japanese ambassador
The meeting with the association members comes hours after the Wiper leader’s disclosed details of his meeting with Japanese ambassador to Kenya, Hiroshi Matsuura.
Issuing a statement Kalonzo appreciated the ambassador for attending his event which commemorated 40 years in politics and 20 years in diplomacy.
“I had the pleasure of meeting with H.E. Hiroshi Matsuura, the Japanese Ambassador to Kenya. I appreciated Ambassador Matsuura for not just attending the Reflections on My 20 Years in Diplomacy and 40 Years in Political Discourse event but also for the vital insights he shared with me,” Kalonzo stated.

“I am looking forward to our next conversation,” he added.
The event held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, brought together political leaders, diplomats, and civil society representatives to reflect on Kenya’s diplomatic journey and its evolving international relationships.
Dubbed ‘Reflections on My 20 Years in Diplomacy and 40 Years in Political Discourse‘ Kalonzo reflected on his four decades in politics and two decades in diplomacy, expressing deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Kenya and Africa.
He highlighted his extensive public service career, which includes roles as a lawyer, mediator, Member of Parliament, minister, and vice president.
The wiper leader emphasised that his entire working life has been dedicated to public service, underscoring the honour he feels in having contributed to the nation’s development.
“As I reflect on the 20 years of diplomacy and 40 years of political discourse, I realise now more than ever what an absolute honour it has been to serve the people of Kenya and Africa. Indeed, my entire working career has been spent in service to the public, be it as a lawyer, mediator, MP, minister and vice president,” Kalonzo stated.
“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today,” Martin Luther King Jr reminded us six decades ago. Dr King’s seminal words mean even more as we confront “the fierce urgency of now” that is unfolding here in Kenya. “In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is” such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.”
