IEBC picks new CEO

Hussein Marjan has been named the current Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chief Executive Officer and Secretary.

Revealing the appointment, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said Marjan starts his role immediately.

“I am grateful to name Marjan as the CEO and Secretary IEBC, this is after we conducted interviews and the panel settled on him,” he said.

Marjan was among five candidates who were on February 28 shortlisted by the commission and were scheduled to be interviewed as from last week.

Others who were shortlisted alongside Marjan include; Electoral and Governance Expert Zephaniah Aura, Mombasa County IEBC boss Nancy Kariuki, Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development Director (KICDD) Joel Mabonga and George Michugu.
