Former Primer Minister Raila Odinga’s wife Ida Odinga plans to fundraise over Sh300 million in a effort to boost learning facilities for students at her former high school in Homa Bay.

Students at Ogande Girls High School in Homa Bay county will benefit from the state of the art library.

The library will be part of a complex with a research centre and 1,000-seat auditorium and will also contain an ICT hub, a recording studio and conference facilities.

The event scheduled for tomorrow at Ole Sereni Hotel from 2:00pm to 6:pm, is among a series of fundraiser for The Dr Ida Odinga Library, Research, Innovation, and Resource Centre which will take the shape of an eye – to symbolise the gateway to knowledge and the importance of truly ‘seeing’ in our day-to-day activities.

Kenya Film and Classification Board is partnering with Dr. Ida Odinga on the Resource Centre that will also house the Board’s Sinema Mashinani and KBC’s Studio Mashinani centers.

This shall see talent in film related activities tapped and nurtured at the grassroots.

It will be a regional hub for performing arts, centre of arts, Sinema Mashinani and creativity. This shall aid in identifying and nurturing talents and creatives.
