How Kenyans are embracing funny moments of Covid-19 pandemic
With most Kenyans at home, you can expect their level of creativity to go a notch higher.
The netizens now have time and have smartphones—and, of course, motivation—to killing boredom not just their boredom, but also a legion of idle audience.
Sharing their experiences on the curfew, Kenyans from all walks of life shared what they thought was interesting in the world.
Politics aside, the leaders, some sober with minds and others associated with acerbic tongues got creative and decide to engage their friends and followers on their social media platforms. And they did not disappoint.
One of them was Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja, who took to social media to showcase his rapping skills.
Flanked by his sons, the youthful senator and his kids freestyled on a beat made by tapping the table, as they dropped bars on the Corona Pandemic asking people to stay at home.
For the senator, it is time to reminisce on the good old WAPI days, at the British Council.
Kieni legislator Kanini Kega, too, was not left behind as he went back memory lane to his school days. He spent time with his family showcasing the tips from his home science classes.
“Don’t say you cannot stay at home because you have nothing to do, create hata kama ni CBC at home!
I found myself teaching my kids what I learnt in home-science Standard 8 (Kìrùngiì na gìkìģìì)! Stay safe good people this thing is real!” he posted on his Facebook page.
It has also been a win for family first activists. Not only are husbands spending more time with their families, but also doing something constructive, like helping clear the pandemic food stock in a record time.
Netizens, especially Kenyans on Twitter (KoT) have been having a field day, taunting newly married men, with the stereotype that they are powerless once they get home.
Nicknamed baba Jaydens, the unlucky fellows have been hit on their social lives, such that they spend the whole day washing their cars, while avoiding touching baby’s food.
(Every snack has been named so). On the other end, housewives are complaining on the number of times their husbands have to eat while laying lazily around the house.
