Health workers recruitment stopped

By , August 4, 2023

Nyandarua County assembly has halted the ongoing recruitment of health workers because of questions over transparency. The MCAs said the exercise has locked out already serving contract workers who had applied for the positions.

“The County Public Service Board (CPSB) failed to shortlist UHC- contract staff for positions they applied for, and which they were qualified, a move that is discriminative and against the principles of equity, social justice and good governance,” said nominated MCA Stephen Mureithi who moved the motion to have the recruitment exercise stopped.

The assembly now wants the exercise repeated, starting with a re-advertisement of the positions to ensure transparency, inclusivity and confidence in the process.
