At the same time, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has urged residents of Kerio Valley to be cautious as heavy rainfall continues to wreak havoc in most parts of the country and the Rift Valley.

”As heavy rainfall continues to be experienced across several parts of the country, the risk of landslides, especially along the Kerio Valley region, is heightened. We continue to call on residents in the region to be aware of their surroundings and to report any signs of earth movements to local authorities,” he added.

Rainfall to persist

In its forecast published on Sunday, November 2, 2025, the weatherman highlighted that counties in the Highlands west of the Rift Valley, including Kakamega, Bungoma, Kisumu, Kericho, and Elgeyo Marakwet, will experience showers and thunderstorms over a few places on Monday night and Tuesday afternoon, November 4, 2025.
