Governor Wanga reshuffles eight chief officers

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has made leadership changes at different departments in her county as she tries to enhance service delivery to residents.

The reshuffle was made on Wednesday through an internal memo that was sent to the County Secretary Prof Bernard Muok, all county executives and chief officers.

The reshuffle affected eight chief officers.

In the changes, Wanga moved Jaco Obonyo from the department of blue economy and fisheries to trade and industrialisation.

Trade chief officer Joshua Orero will take over as the chief officer in the blue economy department.
Judith Ombok has been moved from gender inclusivity and women empowerment department to agriculture.

Wanga moved education chief officer Dolophine Ochere to the gender and inclusivity department.
Meanwhile, Kennnedy Odhiambo who serves as the chief officer for stakeholder management has moved to mining and the blue economy.

His position will be taken over by Maxwell Omenda who serves as the irrigation chief officer.
Diana Ongere moved from mining and digital economy to education.

Samuel Owigo who serves as the agriculture chief officer has been moved to the irrigation department.
Wanga said the changes are meant to ensure optimum performance in the county government.
