Governor Sonko to know his bail fate today

Embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is set to appear at anti-corruption court in Milimani on Wednesday where his bailing ruling will be made by Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti.

The governor was arraigned on Monday to face graft related charges.

Sonko is currently receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital where he was admitted on Monday evening after complaining of chest problems.

The lawyers produced a report by Dr Esther Nafula of MP Shah Hospital that confirmed the pains and recommended that Sonko be attended to by a specialist.

However, the court ordered that the governor be examined at the Prison’s medical centre to establish his condition and determine whether he should see a specialist.
