Gachagua shows off ‘Karibu Wamunyoro’ banner after landing in Texas
By Mabonga Makhanu, August 2, 2025Hours after landing in Texas for diaspora engagements with Kenyans living in the state, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday, July 2, 2025, showcased a ‘Karibu Wamunyoro’ banner set up for him ahead of his tour.
The banner is a replica of the one at his Wamunyoro residence in Mathira Constituency, where visitors often take photos in front of it.
Gachagua posed for photos in front of the banner, noting that it made him feel at home even while away. Wamunyoro has remained close to his heart, often featuring in his reflections, especially on the period of his impeachment when critics claimed he would be confined there and forgotten.

In the photos, Gachagua was accompanied by his wife. The banner was positioned in front of a large building on a vast ranch, where they also took photos among herds of cattle.
“Feeling at home, far and away,” Gachagua said.
