Gachagua: Ruto has a file on all MPs
By Arnold Ngure, August 27, 2025Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has said President William Ruto has a file on all MPs and senators who have been receiving bribes to pass pieces of government legislation.
Speaking during a live interview at his Karen residence on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Gachagua stated that the files would be used to blackmail the MPs whenever they attempt to defect from the government ahead of the 2027 polls.
“I know William Ruto like the back of my hand. This is what is happening: Most of these senators and MPs, except from the Rift Valley, know that Ruto is done, and they know that when they vie with UDA, they would be sent packing. So, they talk in social places saying that they are with Ruto to get what they can before they defect,” Gachagua said.
File on each MP
“Ruto says he is a consumer of raw intelligence; he monitors all these MPs. He has a file on each one of them. All this money he was bribing them, he has recordings.”
Gachagua equally indicated the State House-based multi-agency team to fight corruption had formed with the purpose of collecting evidence against all MPs who have ever received inducements to pass government legislation.

“He is a smart man; he knew one day these guys could shortchange him, and they can abandon him. He knows that next year, there will be a mass exodus. This multi-agency he has formed is to collect evidence and create files on all leaders in Kenya,” Gachagua said.
“I want to tell all these members of parliament that you will have to stick with Ruto to the end; you will go home together. The minute you try to move and abandon him; he will have a file on all of you,” he added.
“To all those senators and MPs who took money during my impeachment, finance bill, and those who have been taking money for various things in Parliament, Ruto has a file on each one of you, and none of you will be able to abandon him.”
