The National Police Service (NPS) reported that an additional five people have lost their lives following the deadly floods witnessed in the country, bringing the national toll to 108 fatalities.

In a statement by the National Police Service on X on Saturday, March 28, 2026, the NPS cautioned members of the public that the risk of flooding remains due to factors such as saturated ground.

Following the recent reports on the flood death toll by the police, two were recorded in the Western Region, two in the North Eastern Region, and one in the Rift Valley.

At the same time, the police have urged members of the public to remain cautious, particularly in areas previously affected by the deadly floods.

“Members of the public are therefore still advised to remain cautious, particularly in areas previously affected. As of this morning, the cumulative number of fatalities resulting from the ongoing floods has risen to 108, following the confirmation of five additional deaths,” NPS stated.

While confirming the new additional fatalities, NPS has called on the public to cooperate fully with officers and emergency personnel on the ground, as coordinated efforts are critical to ensuring safety.

“Of these newly reported cases, two were recorded in the Western Region, two in the North Eastern Region, and one in the Rift Valley. The public is urged to cooperate fully with officers and emergency personnel on the ground, as coordinated efforts are critical to ensuring safety,” NPS added.

Meanwhile, the National Police Service has announced that multi-agency teams continue to respond to emergencies and support evacuation efforts.

In addition, the teams are also tasked with implementing measures aimed at safeguarding lives, protecting property, and restoring normalcy in impacted communities.

Although rainfall has reduced in intensity in some parts of the country, the police service has said that the risk of flooding remains due to factors such as saturated ground and overflowing drainage systems.

The National Police Service, in collaboration with emergency and disaster response agencies, remains fully deployed and on high alert to mitigate the effects of ongoing flooding in affected areas.
