Gor Mahia’s Benson Omala remains the top goal scorer in the FKF Premier League after 22 rounds of play.

Omala ended a seven-match goal drought by scoring a crucial goal in Gor Mahia’s 1-0 victory over Nairobi City Stars.

That was his 10th goal and it came shortly after a potential loan deal with Saoura fell through at the last minute.

With this win, Gor Mahia reached 47 points, comprising 13 wins, eight draws, and one loss this season.

Francis Kahiro, who recently moved from KCB to Bandari FC, and Kenya Police’s Tito Okello are tied for second place with eight goals each.

Vincent Owino from Nairobi City Stars follows closely with seven goals. Kakamega Homeboyz’ Moses Shummah has six goals as well as Ulinzi Stars Boniface Muchiri, Tusker’s Eric Kapaito and Sofapaka’s Jacob Onyango.

In Week 22 of the FKF PL campaign, 15 goals were scored and seven clean sheets were registered. Notably, Gor Mahia and Murang’a Seal secured victories.

Gor Mahia’s win over Nairobi City Stars marked their fifth consecutive victory over their opponents and their 15th win in the last 23 league meetings.

Omala’s goal broke his seven-match goal drought, while Kevin Omondi achieved his 15th clean sheet in 22 starts.

Gor Mahia’s victory pushed them to 47 points, creating an eight-point gap between them and second-placed Posta Rangers.

Tusker FC, sitting third with 37 points, secured a double over KCB Football Club, showcasing their prowess as the league’s best offensive side with 29 goals and the second-best defensive record, conceding only 14 goals.

Kenya Police’s six-match unbeaten streak has placed them on 37 points. Similarly, Bandari FC also holds 37 points after their 11th win of the season

Kakamega Homeboyz’s goalless draw against AFC Leopards maintained their position with 33 points, two points ahead of AFC Leopards.

FKF Premier League run

Despite AFC Leopards’ eight-match unbeaten run and six consecutive clean sheets, they find themselves in eighth place with 31 points, trailing leaders Gor Mahia by 16 points.

Bidco, at position nine, and KCB, at position ten, are looking to bounce back after recent losses.

Murang’a Seal ended their 11-match winless streak, accumulating 27 points in the process.

Ulinzi Stars, FC Talanta, and Sofapaka are all tied at 25 points, while Kariobangi Sharks and Muhoroni Youth follow closely behind.

In the relegation zone, Shabana and Nzoia Sugar are struggling to secure wins and climb up the ranks.
