First Lady Rachel Ruto has eulogised the late Bishop Allan Kiuna as a great man who loved the church and lived his life based on the scripture.

The first lady gave a glowing tribute to the late Bishop saying he was a man of faith committed to Christ.

“Today, I am deeply saddened that we’ve lost a great man. though our hearts feel the loss, we truly celebrate Bishop Allan Kiuna who was a devoted and loving husband, a cherished father, a caring brother, a dear friend, a spiritual father and the visionary founder of JCC a committed member of the community,” she said

According to Rachel, the late Kiuna touched the hearts of millions of people in Kenya and internationally. He had great love for Christ and the people of God.

Health challenges

“Bishop was a bold man who undertook every assignment with courage and never was he held back by human fear of loss or harm. He travelled through the county preaching even in disturbed areas. Even days when he was undergoing health challenges he remained relentless irrespective of the circumstances around his life,” she added.

Dorcas Gachagua, the wife of deputy president Rigathi Gachagua also eulogised Bishop Kiuna as a brother and comforted the family.

“I knew him for 22 years, and I have seen them through the journey. Today I come to give my condolences and on behalf of my husband DP Rigathi Gachagua. When he heard that the bishop had gone to be the Lord, he was shocked and asked “Why now?” she said.

Dorcas noted that even though the bishop might have died young at 57, it was his service to God that mattered the most.
