Old school music fans have been assured of a treat of their lifetime, as the first-ever ‘Chonga Chonga Old Skool Festival’ gets set to make its debut on February 26 at the Meru Showgrounds.

Organised by Kayfar Watanashati and VJay Kaygee Karuga in partnership with Chainless Entertainment, the concert will feature some of Kenya’s best when it comes to the music of yore.

The organisers told Spice yesterday they’ve already confirmed the participation of among other artistes Nameless, Sanaipei Tande, Wyre, Colonel Moustapha, Wahu, Jua Cali, Pilipili, Natti Mwalim and Kamanu.

“Our aim is to bring people together to listen to the old skool vibe and celebrate the artistes as a way of appreciating them for shaping the industry.

The plan is to have these shows in different towns across Kenya to feature all the artistes who have made the Kenyan music industry what it is,” says Kayfar.
