Father, son arrested for growing canabis

Police in Trans Nzoia on Thursday evening arrested two suspects for cannabis cultivation in a residential suburb of Lukhuna village, Matisi Location.

The raid took place at 5pm after police got a tip off from members of the community policing.

Trans Nzoia County police Commander Ayub Gitonga Ali confirmed the incident and said two suspects were nabbed during  the raid on the residential compound and the officers  and members of the public joint efforts in uprooting 70 stems of the cannabis plants.

Speaking to the People Daily at the Kitale Police Divisional headquarters, Gitonga said the two suspects, Moses Mukanda and Isaac Wanjala who are father and son are suspected to be the masterminds of the crime.

The two are being remanded at Matisi Police Station before their arraignment.
