Students from the 12 primary schools in Taita Taveta County have benefitted from mathematical sets, clip boards and stationery.

The donations were made by Stella Samboja, wife of Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja, when she visited several schools across the county to encourage class eight candidates who are currently sitting the exams.

Mrs Samboja also donated materials to the candidates to assist them during the examinations.

She also presented sanitary pads to girls to keep them in school. She visited Choke, Kitumbi, Ngolia, Mwakishimba, Zungulukani, Miasenyi and Sangenyi primary schools from Voi and Taita sub-counties, respectively.

A candidate at Sangenyi Primary School  said: “Some of us had no mathematical sets to sit the examinations because our parents could not afford them. We thank the Governor and his wife for coming to our rescue.”

The candidates exuded confidence, saying they are well prepared to write their examinations and pass with flying colours.

“I call upon our parents and other education stakeholders to accord the candidates maximum support  during the exam period. We wish our candidates success,” she said.

Mrs Samboja also visited Mngama, Manoa, Kamtonga, Mata and Lotima primary schools in Mwatate and Taveta sub-counties.  She donated assorted food stuffs to a number of needy schools.
