Information, Technology, and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary (CS) nominee Eliud Owalo has put his net worth at Ksh645 million.

Speaking when he appeared before a parliamentary committee vetting Cabinet nominees, Owalo said he owns a house in Nairobi worth Ksh120 million, an upcountry home worth Ksh7 million, and a piece of land worth Ksh200 million in his rural area.

“I’m worth Ksh645 million Mr. Chairman,” Owalo told National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula on Friday, October 21.

He also listed four cars worth Ksh15 million, an incomplete hotel worth Ksh80 million, and trees valued at Ksh160 million.

“A hotel facility not fully complete but is Ksh80 million as of now, though based on the bill of quantities upon completion, it will be worth Ksh293 million,” he added.

Owalo is among 22 Cabinet nominees announced by President William Ruto last month.

If approved, then he will take over from ICT CS Joe Mucheru who has been at the helm since 2015.
