Elachi accuses Ruto of greed, reveals why she can’t work with him
Former Nairobi County Speaker Beatrice Elachi has opened up about her working relationship with Deputy President William Ruto.
In a statement on a local daily, Elachi accused the DP of greed highlighting it as one of the reasons why she can not work with him.
“He believes he is Alpha and Omega. He made sure that good people in Jubilee went home in 2017 so that he doesn’t get people who will question him,” Elachi said.
“The greed is one thing that has made me be disappointed in him. You can’t eat a country in five years like this,” she said.
The statement by Elachi comes after Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu made a similar revelation during a rally by Orange Democratic Movement’s (ODM) Azimio la Umoja in Makueni.
In her address to the rally attended by ODM Chief Raila Odinga, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and his Machakos Counterpart Alfred Mutua, Ngilu said all the Cabinet Secretaries fronted by Ruto in the Jubilee administration had graft allegations against them.
“All the ministries that he took have gone down. He took agriculture and brought maize from Mexico,” she stated.
However, Ruto who was on a rally in Kitui asked his competitors to come up with realistic proposals on how to provide employment opportunities to the youth instead of hoodwinking them with promises.
“Let us unite and vote in a government that will uplift our businesses, create jobs and support our farmers,” Ruto said.
