DP Kindiki meets Kakamega MPs to discuss ongoing govt projects

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, played host to Members of Parliament from Kakamega county, at his official Karen residence in Nairobi.

Kindiki in a statement shared via his official social media accounts stated that he had met the lawmakers from Western Kenya county to discuss and engage on the expedition of ongoing government projects.

The second in command revealed that the meeting also aimed at enhancing the interface with political leaders for the good of the entire nation.

According to Kindiki, the government must forge nationhood, focus on what unites the country and enhance the balance between the sub-national and the national agenda, for it to realise the economic transformation agenda for Kenyans.

MPs in Kindiki’s meeting

The MPs present during the meeting were Senator Boni Khalwale, Emanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani), Nabii Nabwera (Lugari), Malulu Injendi (Malava), Christopher Aseka (Khwisero), Peter Nabulindo (Matungu), Tindi Mwale (Butere), Fred Ikana (Shinyalu) and Innocent Mugabe (Likuyani).

“Met the Kakamega County representatives in the Senate and the National Assembly: Dr. Bonny Khalwale (Senator), Emanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani), Nabii Nabwera (Lugari), Malulu Injendi (Malava), Christopher Aseka (Khwisero), Peter Nabulindo (Matungu), Tindi Mwale (Butere), Fred Ikana (Shinyalu) and Innocent Mugabe (Likuyani) to discuss and engage on expedition of ongoing government projects and enhance the interface with political leaders for the good of the entire nation.

“To realise the economic transformation agenda for our citizens, we must forge nationhood, focus on what unites us and enhance the balance between the sub-national and the national agenda,” Kindiki stated.

Ruto’s Kakamega development tour

The meeting comes months after President William Ruto visited the county for a development tour on August 17, 2024.

In Kakamega, Ruto launched a water project in Malava, and according to Governor Fernandes Barasa, the project would produce 1.2 million litres per day.

The president promised that his government will ensure every household is considered for water projects.

“We will leave no one behind in our quest to provide sufficient and safe water for households. Commissioned the Malava Cluster Water Supply Project, Lot III, in Namanja, Kakamega County.

“With a daily supply capacity of 1.2 million litres a day, the water project will serve more than 100,000 people in Chemuche, East Kabras, South Kabras, Shirugu Mugai, Butali Chegulo, and Manda Shivaga,” Ruto said.
