Don’t support Raila again, Jimi Wanjigi tells Kamba community
Presidential hopeful Jimi Wanjigi.

Nairobi businessman Jimi Wanjigi has told Kamba Community not to elect Raila Odinga as the next president of Kenya.

Speaking in Kitui on Thursday, Wanjigi said the community has always voted for the ODM leader to the man and he has not assisted them.

“When he went into handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta, did he take Kalonzo with him? Did he bring any development here?” Wanjigi asked the attendees of the rally.

He further said Raila has been running for presidency for many years and it was high time he left the political stage for others.

“In 1997, it was Raila versus Daniel Moi. In 2007, it was Raila versus Mwai Kibaki and in 2013 and 2017, it was Raila versus Uhuru. What does he think he is to always want to be president?” he asked the crowd.

Wanjigi has been a kingmaker for many years.

In 2013, he was credited for uniting Deputy President William Ruto and President Kenyatta to form Jubilee government. They later fell out.

In 2017, he was instrumental in the formation of National Super Alliance (NASA) which fronted Raila as its flag bearer.

In a sudden turn of events last year, Wanjigi became Raila’s fierce critic and vowed to challenge him in the ODM presidential nomination.

He has been traversing the country and last week, reports emerged that he had called for an ODM National Delegates Conference (NDC) at Kasarani Stadium before he was dramatically arrested and taken to court.

He was freed after court found him with no case to answer.
