Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

1. Starlets in crucial match

Harambee Starlets will face Botswana in a crucial Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifying match in Gaborone.

The first leg held at Nyayo Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw, and Starlets, after missing the opportunity to capitalize on their numerous chances, face a rather tough task in beating the COSAFA nation, who will probably enjoy a huge home advantage.

The aggregate winner will book a place in the next WAFCON finals in Morocco in 2024.

2. Key committee meetings

The Parliamentary Committee on Education will have a meeting with key stakeholders regarding medical insurance coverage for teachers.

The stakeholders include MINET, the insurance firm, Bliss Healthcare, and medical administrators, among others.

Meanwhile, the budget and appropriations committee will hold a meeting with the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA).

Among the items on the agenda of the meeting is the presentation by CRA on draft recommendations on the basis for equitable sharing of nationally raised revenue between the national and county governments for the financial year 2024/25.

3. Obado trial resumes

Following an application of adjournment by the prosecution, the matter did not proceed before High Court Judge Cecilia Githua.

A senior state prosecutor told the court that the prosecution wanted more time until today to go through the data documents they were supplied by Safaricom and Airtel. She said that the documents are 500 pages.
