Kindiki’s inaugural media engagement

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki is today expected to his his inaugural national media engagement. 

The anticipated interview will be broadcast across various media houses from 7 pm to 9 pm. This comes a month after Kindiki took the oath of office as the country’s new deputy president.

Reactions to suspension of projects on Ngong Forest

Reactions to the revocation of the special license issued to a private developer to construct an entertainment joint within Ngong Forest will be expected today.

Environment Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aden Duale in a statement issued on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, ordered the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) Director General Mamo Boru to officiate the suspension of the licenses.

The CS also directed the director general to present a detailed brief regarding the matter to his office within the next three days.

This follows an outcry online after the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) confirmed that a private developer had been granted permission to establish an entertainment joint on the forest land.

In addition to opposing the move on their various social media platforms, Quarters expressed increased concerns over the encroachment of Nairobi’s forests which prompted the Environment CS to take action.
