Temporary traffic disruption

There will be a temporary traffic disruption for motorists in Nairobi, this morning.

Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) in a statement issued on Saturday, November 30, 2024, warned that the temporary traffic disruption will affect motorists using the Mombasa Road between Nyayo National Stadium and Museum Hill Interchange.

According to KeNHA, the disruption will begin at 6 am and end at 10:30 am.

“This is to allow for a 21-kilometer marathon in commemoration of the World Aids Day event to take place,” KeNHA said in a post on X.

The agency has urged motorists to follow the traffic plan.

FKF Premier League action

Fans of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League will today, Sunday December 1, 2024, be entertained by five matches that will be played at different times.

Kariobangi Sharks and Sofapaka FC will start off the Sunday fixture in an early kick off clash at Dandora Stadium in Nairiobi, at 1:00pm.

Kakamega Homeboyz will hot Shabana FC at Mumias Complex in Mumias, Kakamega county in a clash that will kick off at 2:00 pm.

Murang’a Seal will host Tusker FC at Sportpesa Arena in Murang’a in a match that will kick off at 3:00 pm, with Ulinzi Stars facing off with Mathare United at Kinoru Stadium in a 400 pm clash.

AFC Leopards vs Police FC will close the Sunday fixture in a match that will be played at Dandora Stadium at 4:00 pm.

Politicians in churches

Politicians will once again expected to flock different churches across the country for worship, and as per the norm, they are expected to take to the pulpit to react to different events that have happened in the country in the past one week.

Today’s Sunday service comes just a day after the Archdiocese of Nairobi reiterated its stance on political donations, confirming that it returned Ksh2.8 million received from President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, November 30, 2024, Archbishop Philip Anyolo emphasized the Church’s commitment to preserving its independence and ethical principles.

Archbishop Anyolo explained that the decision to return the money was consistent with the Church’s long-standing practice of declining donations that could compromise its mission or integrity.

“We returned everything. I do not want to say what the President has already said in public because he already said it. I’m not a politician. I do not want to argue over what politicians have said. We returned everything and we will continue to do so,” Anyolo stated.
