DCP accuses Kimani Ichung’wah of planned rally disruptions in Kikuyu
By Cynthia Lodite, April 10, 2026Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens Party has accused the Kikuyu Constituency Member of Parliament, Kimani Ichung’wah, of being a mastermind in the planning of the DCP rally disruption in Kikuyu.
In a statement by the DCP on Friday, April 10, 2026, in a letter to the National Police Service, the DCP raised concerns over a planned disruption of the DCP meeting scheduled for Saturday, the 11th of April, 2026, in Kikuyu Town.
“We are raising concerns over a planned disruption of our meeting scheduled for Saturday, the 11th of April, 2026, in Kikuyu Town. In several, well-documented instances, the Kikuyu Constituency Member of Parliament, one Mr Kimani Ichung’wah, has made direct and veiled threats targeting our meeting,” read the statement in part.
“On 25th March 2026, while attending a function on the Alliance High School grounds and in the presence of the Deputy President, a member of the National Security Council, Mr Kimani said that ‘…if Rigathi is circumcised, tell him to come to Kikuyu…’,” DCP stated.
The party went on to add that “On 9th April 2026 in Parliament, the MP said that ‘… you are ferrying goons from Githurai and from Kayole to come and loot people’s businesses in Kikuyu Town; we will make sure that police protect businesses in Kikuyu Town…'”

DCP further explained that the party notes, “Despite the blatant threats and admission that he is privy to crimes that may be committed, the MP has not been summoned for further explanation, and no action has been taken.”
In addition, the party revealed that the team received intelligence and confirmation from the ground that, pursuant to his proclamations, the Kikuyu MP is organising violence with goons and the police.
The DCP party leader has also stated that the organised goons are to create mayhem, vandalise people’s businesses, and attack targeted establishments to trigger the police, who will join in by using tear gas and ammunition in a veiled intervention, but in reality, the police will be stepping in as backup to the goons to scuttle our meeting.
On his part, Gachagua has further accused the legislator of organising to block main roads in and out of Kikuyu Town by stalling heavy vehicles across the highways with an excuse of mechanical breakdowns in order to block his access to the venue while making attacks on the convoy easier.
