Preparations for the marking of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations are progressing smoothly, with tight security measures in place to safeguard the integrity of the process.

According to a post on X by the Ministry of Education on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogambaa stated that preparations for the KCSE examination marking are well underway, adding that the commitment of all personnel involved was commendable. He further emphasised strict adherence to operational rules and regulations.

“Earlier today, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba led the opening of the KNEC container for the KCSE examination in Ruiru Sub-County. The preparations for the KCSE examination marking are well underway, ” the statement reads

The CS appreciated the personnel for their adherence to the rules and regulations put in place. “We applaud the commitment of all personnel while stressing strict adherence to operational rules and regulations,” the statement reads

The council had earlier outlined strict rules aimed at curbing malpractice, especially amid persistent challenges posed by mobile phones during national examinations.

These measures come as part of a broader effort by the Ministry of Education and KNEC to ensure a transparent and secure marking process, reinforcing public confidence in the credibility of Kenya’s national examinations.

Education officials have assured the public that the marking process will be conducted efficiently and with integrity, highlighting that every precaution has been taken to prevent any unauthorised access to examination materials.

The KCSE marking exercise, which involves hundreds of personnel across multiple centres, is critical in maintaining the standard of Kenya’s national examinations and ensuring that students’ results reflect their true academic performance.
