CS Mutua announces riders’ jobs in Dubai paying up to Ksh104K per month

Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection on Thursday, December 5, 202,4 announced job opportunities for Kenyan riders in Qatar.

In a statement on Thursday, December 5, 2024, CS Mutua indicated that the company is interested in hiring Kenyan nationals to serve as riders in that Persian Gulf country and that its human resource (HR) personnel will land next week.

The CS noted that human resource personnel from the interested company will then interview the interested Kenyans ahead of their recruitment to work in Qatar.

In total, 600 Kenyans would be hired to work as motorcycle riders doing deliveries.

Requirements

  • A valid Kenyan passport or proof of an eCitizen application in progress.
  • A current Certificate of Good Conduct or proof of an eCitizen application in progress
  • A valid rider’s license
  • Experience is not mandatory but is an added advantage.

“Successful candidates will undergo four months of training in Dubai, during which the company will assist them in obtaining UAE riding licenses,” CS Mutua explained.

According to the CS, the motorcycle riders will be paid per trip and the money would accumulate to almost Ksh104,000 per month.

“Riders will earn 7.5 dirhams per delivery trip. The minimum daily average is 15 trips, translating to 112.5 dirhams per day. For 26 working days a month, this totals 2,925 dirhams (approximately 104,000 Kenyan shillings, tax-free). Riders with initiative can make upwards of 30 deliveries per day, increasing their earnings,” the CS explained.

For successful candidates, Mutua informed them that the said company would offer them free accommodation, comprehensive medical cover and a motorcycle which will be maintained by the hiring firm.

However, Mutua insisted that interested candidates would have to pay certain costs from their pocket including air ticket, payment to HR and a non-refundable medical fee. In total Mutua said that applicants must be prepared with at least Ksh167,900 to cover the expected costs.

The CS announced that the interviews would be conducted on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Nairobi National Polytechnic, Mogira Road (opposite Pangani Police Station) from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Nannies

Besides riders, Mutua also announced 500 job opportunities for nannies in Qatar. Successful candidates would earn Ksh52,000 per month.

Only female candidates would be considered for those nanny positions.
