Court puts widow of late Kibor on notice
By Winstone.Chiseremi, August 4, 2023Eunita Jelimo the youngest widow of former prominent Eldoret farmer-cum-politician Jackson Kibor risks going to jail after the High Court cited her for alleged interference in the multi-billion-shillings movable and immovable property left behind by the deceased.
Issuing the warning, Justice Reuben Nyakundi told the tycoon’s widow to obey the court orders which were issued on December 19, 2022, barring her from disposing of any of the deceased’s estate spread across Rift Valley, Coast and Nairobi regions.
“It has come to the court’s attention that there has been inter-meddling of the deceased’s estate by you, let that stop because doing so will land you in jail,” warned Nyakundi.
He told the widow not to abuse the task bestowed upon her as one of the administrators of the tycoon’s estate to start misappropriating his property before being granted permission to do so.
The late controversial politician is said to have named his fourth wife and lawyer Jonah Keter as administrators of his Will which is at the centre of controversy at the High Court.
He died early last year at one of the top private hospitals in Eldoret town at the age of 80 after a long illness.
The late Kibor’s 27 children have ganged up against his youngest wife claiming that the Will is questionable and does not reflect the wishes of their late father.
The aggrieved children, in their application filed in court, want a review of the disputed will which they describe as forgery.
