Court frees man on Ksh500K cash bail in Eastleigh land case
By Zipporah Ngwatu, April 24, 2026A Nairobi court has released a director of a company called Skyline on a Ksh500,000 cash bail. The man identified as Abdul Hassan Tahalil was charged with forging a land document in the Eastleigh area within Nairobi County.
Listed as a director of Skyline in court documents, Abdul had been arraigned before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina on Friday, April 24, 2026, where he denied two counts lodged against him by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
According to the charge sheet, the director, with others not in court, is accused of forging a document of title of intent to defraud Mary Wairimu Muhoro of a parcel of land situated in the Eastleigh area and valued at Ksh25 million.
The prosecution states that the accused, with others, on or before August 10, 2022, forged a document of title to land, namely an indenture, purporting it to be a genuine and valid indenture drawn by the firm of CK Advocates.
Further, the charge sheet states that the accused later uttered a certain forged document, namely an indenture for a parcel of the said land, while at the Nairobi Environment and Land Court, Milimani, on November 30, 2022.
“On November 30, 2022, at the Environment and Land Court Milimani in Nairobi, knowingly and fraudulently uttered a certain forged document, namely an indenture for parcel of land LR NO. 36/1/18, to the Environment and Land Court in civil suit number 409 of 2022, purporting it to be a genuine indenture drawn by the firm of CK Advocates,” part of the charge sheet reads.

Denies charges
Abdul denied all the charges, and a plea of not guilty was entered.
In their submissions, the defence lawyers informed the court that there was another case of the same land at the Environment and Land Court which was scheduled for a hearing on July 2, 2026.
Further, they informed the court that they had written to the DPP on the same issue and urged the court to release their client on reasonable bail and bond terms pending the hearing and determination of the matter.
The prosecution did not oppose his release on bond and bail.
The court released him on a bond of Ksh1 million with surety with an alternative of paying a Ksh500,000 cash bail with two contact persons.
The matter will be mentioned on May 6, 2026, for pre-trial.
