Coronavirus: Government extends quarantine to 28 days
The Health Ministry has extended the quarantine period from 14 to 28 days.
In a memo sent to all quarantine sites, the acting Director General of Health Patrick Amoth ordered to extend the period in facilities where Covid-19 had been confirmed.
The new infections between people quarantined in these facilities necessitated the new measures, according to the director.
Mr. Amoth said there was failure to keep social distance and low observance of hygiene measures which lead to new infections
“It was observed that those quarantined within various facilities have not maintained social distance, prescribed hygiene measures and have instead had close contacts and interactions,” Said Patrick Amoth.
Mr. Amoth also directed the managers of the quarantine facilities to observe all the safety directives to cut the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
