Congolese Lingala superstar Koffi Olomide has apologised to Kenyans over the fracas that occurred at a five-star city hotel about four years ago.

“I am sorry for what happened before but I am also human, and hence prone to mistakes,” Olomide told the press at Ole Sereni Hotel on Monday, following his quiet entry into the country the previous night.

Flanked by his lawyer Prof George Wajackoyah, Koffi said he regrets the drama that saw him being deported by the government to Kinshasa, DRC, four years ago and banned from entering Kenya.

“Since that day we have had time to clear the issue with the dancer,” he stated.

The Selfie singer, 61, was arrested outside Royal Media Studios in July 2016 and deported but with the ban having been lifted, he took to social media to express his gratitude.

Jambo Kenya, this is Grand Mopao, Koffi Olomide, first I apologise, and sincerely I’m sorry for what I did wrong…” he stated. The singer, is now slated to perform on May 9 at Carnivore, Nairobi.
