The Federation of Evangelical and Indigenous Christian Churches of Kenya (FEICCK) has challenged President William Ruto to use the current protests by the youth as a wake-up for his government to honour all the pre-election pledges.

Clear indication

FEICCK bishop Samuel Ngacha Njiriri  (pictured) said the protests by Generation Z is a clear indication that President Ruto’s government is no longer sensitive to the problems and challenges facing Kenyans.

Bishop Njiriri, who is also the presiding bishop of Stewards Revival Pentecostal Church (SRPC) said it is worrying that President Ruto has failed to honour most of the pledges he made to Kenyans during the campaigns and has instead embarked on a journey to make life more harder to them through taxation.

“The concerns against the government’s failure to deliver cuts across the board, including us the church that actively pushed for his election. We quite often find ourselves in awkward situations when our faithful ask us questions,” Bishop Njiriri said.

The cleric urged the President to urgently address the issues being raised by the youth before they degenerate into dangerous levels of a revolution. He also cautioned the government, through the police, against using excessive force to quell the protests.
