Clean sweep! UDA wins all by-election seats
By Ndiritu Wanjiru, February 27, 2026The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has dominated the by-elections that were held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission in four regions across the country.
The president’s outfit has won all four seats, which include one parliamentary seat and three Members of County Assembly seats.
Taking it to their social media platform on Friday, February 27, 2026, the IEBC said that the elections were concluded and announced by the respective returning officers in the various areas and posted on the commission’s website. IEBC announced the UDA Party candidates as the winners in the elections, expressing its sincere appreciation to Kenyans in the four by-election areas who turned out to vote.
The returning officer for the Isiolo South constituency, while announcing the results for the parliamentary contest, congratulated the winner and declared him the duly elected member of parliament.
“The returning officer hereby declares that Mr Tubi Mohammed Tubi has been duly elected as the member of parliament for the Isiolo South constituency in the elections held on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Congratulations,” the returning officer remarked.

Isiolo South results

While his sister Bina Tupi emerged second on a Jubilee ticket, garnering 634 votes. Isack Fayo of the National Economic Development Party, who withdrew from the race, received 44 votes.
The heated contest was a result of the death of the Isiolo South member of parliament, who felt vacant following the death of Mohammed Tupi, who died while receiving treatment in Nairobi, according to a statement that was released by the speaker of the National Assembly.
