Chinese association in Botswana donates wheelchairs to community

By , March 16, 2020
The Botswana China Friendship Associaton (BOCFA) on Friday donated 10 wheelchairs to Serenity Rehabilitation Center at Tlokweng village in the South East District, near Gaborone, the capital city.
The center offers supportive care to chronically ill patients and the elderly, counselling services, therapeutic care, recreational services and home based care.
The donation was meant to recognize its efforts to transform lives.
Miles Nan, the Executive Chairman, said government alone cannot carry the burden of helping vulnerable residents and therefore stakeholders should come onboard.
The association, established in 2012, aims at assisting in poverty alleviation, skills training and youth empowerment.
Nan promised that BOCFA will work with the Chinese medical doctors based in Botswana to have at least one wellness outreach in the middle of every year.
Morwadi Mosenki, the center's operations manager, appreciated the donation, saying it is a sign that the center is growing and appreciated by the community. (Xinhua)
