CAK extends 2026 student ICT attachment deadline
The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has extended the deadline for its 2026 Student Attachment Opportunities, giving university students one final chance to apply before the new deadline of April 13, 2026.
In a statement on their X handle on Saturday, April 11, 2026, the authority stated that the attachment programme, which lasts three months, is available to undergraduate students at recognised universities and has placements in 17 departments.
“Only 2 days left! Don’t miss out! The countdown is on! Applications for the Student Attachment Opportunities at the Communications Authority of Kenya close in just 48 hours! This is your chance to gain hands-on experience at CA,” the Communication Authority of Kenya statement read.

These are human resources and administration, corporate communications, finance and accounts, information technology and cybersecurity, frequency and spectrum management, legal services and competition management, research, planning, and quality management. There are also other openings in consumer protection, public education and awareness, monitoring and inspection, as well as postal and telecom licensing.
Eligibility for application
The authority has further indicated that applicants must match their field of study with the relevant department of interest, demonstrate a strong interest in working in ICT regulation and public service, and be current university students. The programme aims to provide the students with practical knowledge in a real regulatory environment, as well as put them through the work of a national ICT authority.

According to the communications authority, successful applicants will enjoy the opportunity to be exposed to industry players and acquire practical skills and knowledge, which are relevant to the rising digital economy in Kenya. Another aspect of the programme is to join the overall digital transformation agenda in the country by developing young talent in the major technical and administrative areas.
Application criteria
The interested students must apply online using the official application link that is offered by the Authority. Applications should consist of a one-page resume, a cover letter specifying the desired department, and a letter of official confirmation of enrolment and the necessity of the placement of the applications by their institution.
The CA has underlined that the programme is non-discriminatory and invites persons with disabilities and those who belong to marginalised groups to apply.
The deadline is now subjected to a new date of April 13, 2026, and this will give students a last-minute chance to be placed in one of the most vital ICT regulatory institutions in Kenya.
