Bungoma areas that will experience power interruptions on Saturday

Several areas of Bungoma County are slated to experience power interruptions, as confirmed by Kenya Power, the electrical utility company.

In a communication issued by Kenya Power on Friday evening, the Lugulu area is scheduled to undergo a planned power interruption from 9:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m.

Power interruptions to affect schools

Several educational institutions, including Misikhu Girls, Lugulu Girls, Friends School Kamusinga, and Kimilili Boys, will be affected.

The power interruptions will impact healthcare facilities such as Lugulu Hospital and Kapsokwony Hospital, along with the following areas: Munyikana, Malaha, Wenyila, Lugulu Market, Nasasi, Bituyu, Kimilili Market, Kapsokwony Market, Makhese, Lutonyi Village, and adjacent areas.

Kenya Power has clarified that these interruptions are planned to accommodate ongoing maintenance work.

“The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (14th October, 2023). The interruption is part of network maintenance,” a statement by Kenya Power stated.

This maintenance work by Kenya Power has previously affected areas in Nairobi, Machakos, Trans Nzoia, Kisumu, Kakamega, Vihiga, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, and Kiambu counties.

The Marsabit area also faced disruptions recently due to generator breakdowns on Thursday.
