Boundaries review: MPs demand answers
Members of Parliament want the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to announce when it will carry out the review of constituencies and ward boundaries.
Their demand comes at a time when the electoral body is experiencing a leadership vacuum following the expiry of the terms of commissioners.
The replacement process has been delayed by a disagreement between the ruling Kenya Kwanza Alliance and the Azimio la Umoja Coalition over the process of filling the vacancies.
Azimio leader Raila Odinga has threatened to withdraw from the parliamentary bipartisan talks.

Nakuru Town East David Gikaria wants the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee to elaborate on the criteria the electoral commission plans to employ to guarantee a fair boundary review process.
He further wants the committee to provide details of the “protected constituencies” and how the commission will ensure the boundary review process does not interfere with them.
Laisamis MP Joseph Lekuton (pictured) said the electoral commission should provide a report on the last review undertaken, if any, on constituency or county boundaries.
“The commission should provide details of the size in square kilometres, of Laisamis Constituency and clarify whether the size has ever been varied over time,” stated Lekuton.
