Bidco takes advantage of City Stars to slip in NSL ties

By , October 28, 2019

Nairobi City Stars’ failure to beat Mt Kenya United yesterday meant Bidco United cut the gap at the top of National Super League Standings to just four points.

This is following the hard-fought 1-1 result the league leaders were subjected to at Camp Toyoyo in the afternoon clash.

Veteran striker Jimmy Bageya struck in the first minute before Mt Kenya had John Ndirangu finish off a sweeping move from midfield for the equaliser in the dying minutes of the first half.

From the balance of play, both sides were at par in terms of possession but City Stars were unlucky to bury the game with chances going begging from Dennis Gateri and Ebrimah Sanneh in the early exchanges.

Mt Kenya sat deep in the dying minutes and frustrated their opponents with danger man Ndirangu causing the City Stars backline problems.

Meanwhile, Bidco beat visiting Vihiga Bullets 3-2 in a seesaw match to move to 25 points as their incredible season continues unabated.

David Orem’s brace inside six minutes plus Jacob Onyango’s effort was enough to deny Bullets a share of the spoils.

Meanwhile, league contenders Ushuru suffered a setback after a 1-0 loss to visiting Vihiga United while newcomers APS Bomet won by a similar margin against St Joseph’s for their second victory of the season.

Migori Youth received a walkover after FC Talanta failed to turn up for the match.
