Babu Owino to spend seven more days in police custody

By , January 20, 2020

Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino to be remanded for seven more days to allow police finish probe into shooting of a DJ at B-Club in Kilimani on Friday morning.

While making the ruling on Monday, Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi directed a prebail report be filed in court within seven days by probation officer.

Babu’s lawyer Danstan Omari, however, challenged the seven day period, requesting his client to be held at Gigiri police station.

Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Jacob Ondari said the application by the defense is very strange, and wants Babu remanded in prison custody.

Babu pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder charges.
