Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has reassured Kenyans about his health, sharing a heartfelt update and sending prayers to those spending Christmas in the hospital.

Babu posted on X on Sunday, December 28, 2025, thanking Kenyans for their concern and support during his recent illness. He said he had undergone a medical procedure and is now on the path to recovery.

“By God’s grace, I am now on the path to recovery, and I remain hopeful and determined to resume my public duties in the new year,” he wrote.

The legislator used the opportunity to express his solidarity with Kenyans who spent Christmas in hospital beds, away from their families.

“As I heal, my heart is especially with all Kenyans who have spent this Christmas season in hospital beds, away from their loved ones. I pray that God grants you healing, renewed strength, and comfort, and that your families are filled with hope during this challenging time,” Owino posted.

He emphasised the importance of unity and compassion.

“No Kenyan should ever feel alone in suffering, and no family should be driven to despair because of illness. We must continue to stand together, bound by faith, compassion, and our shared humanity,” he added, quoting Jeremiah 30:17: “I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the Lord.

MP clarifies health speculation

This update follows an earlier statement made on December 13, 2025, when Owino addressed widespread speculation over his health. At the time, he thanked Kenyans for their concern, assuring them he was recovering well. The post drew hundreds of reactions from supporters and colleagues wishing him a full recovery.

Owino’s clarification came after rumours circulated that he had been hospitalised in Nairobi under unclear circumstances. The lack of official information had prompted calls for clarity across social media platforms.

The MP’s health update comes after a busy period of political engagement and a recent Infotrak survey suggesting that he is the most preferred Luo kingpin.
