Azimio leaders accuse police of “silence” as goons attack Raila, Uhuru properties
Leaders affiliated with the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition are raising concerns about the loud silence of law enforcement officers in the country following the raid on former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s farm and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s gas plant on Monday, March 27, 2023.
Speaking to the press, the leaders further argued that the attack on Raila’s East Africa Spectre Limited, a company located along Mombasa road was a well-curated mission targeting Raila’s spouse Ida Odinga.
“Polisi walikua wapi hii maneneo ikifanyika. Tunajua walikuja na 20 motorbikes with three persons each. This was well planned.
“Ile tumeona hapa ni jambo la utoto na aibu kubwa sana. Mtu kwa uwezo kama anajiita Deputy President anatuma watu kuja kuvamia mahali mama anafanya kazi na kupasua vioo na kulenga ofisi mama anakalia kabisa. Tunasema hii ni utoto hatujawai ona kutoka kwa watu wanajiita viongozi. Ida Odinga does not play politics. You must respect that.” one of the leaders stated.
Loosely translated as; “(This attack is so shameful coming from the Deputy President. The gang pelted stones targeting Ida Odinga’s office. This level of arrogance has not been witnessed before from leaders.)”
Further, they asked former President Uhuru Kenyatta to come out and condemn the invasion retaliating that they are well equipped to counter-attack and raid the homes of the leaders who sponsored Monday’s attacks.
“Tunaomba mheshimiwa Uhuru atoke sasa. Kimani Ichungwa nyinyi ndio mnapanga kuvamia mali ya watu. Tunajua mahali mnaishi. Tuko na vijana wengi kuwashinda, tukipanga kuwavamia, mtatulaumu? We know where we stay, and we can equally invade you. This is nonsense. Tunataka kuambia serikali, kama hivi ndio namna ya kuleta amani Kenya, basi wacha waendelee lakini hatutakubali iendelee tena. Tutaleta vijana wetu pia bila kuogopa mtu.“
Loosely translated, “We are requesting Uhuru Kenyatta to come out now. The likes of Kimani Ichungwa (National Assembly Majority Leader) are the ones planning these raids. We know where you live and we can equally invade you. We have more supporters so we can also plan to retaliate. We will bring our youths without any fear because this move by the government is unacceptable,” one of the MCA stated.
Earlier, another group of goons invaded the Kenyatta family’s farm in Ruiru destroying property of unknown value.
The gang invaded the multi-billion property well-armed with machetes and power saws before they began to cut down eucalyptus trees and carted away sheep grazing after accessing the land from Kamakis along the Eastern Bypass.
In resurfaced photos, the unknown persons were captured making away with the stolen sheep after the raid. Another group was seen cutting down trees on the farm.
