Devolution Conference

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance leader Raila Odinga will be the guest speaker on day two of the Devolution Conference today.

President William Ruto opened the 10th Devolution Conference on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

The three-day conference aims to review the country’s progress after 10 years of devolution.

Raila, who is celebrated as the father of devolution, is expected to arrive at Eldoret Sports Club a few minutes after 12.30 pm.

On the arrival of the ODM leader, a video indicating the 10 years devolution journey will be played.

Mandago

Embattled Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago is expected to be arraigned in court today following his arrest on Wednesday, August 16.

Mandago was moved to the Central Police Station in Nakuru on Wednesday evening after being grilled at the Rift Valley Regional Directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters for the better part of Wednesday.

The senator was nabbed at his residence before being taken to DCI offices in Nakuru. 

The arrest came after a warrant was issued to arrest Mandago and three others after they failed to appear before Nakuru Chief Magistrate for plea-taking. 

Mandago found himself in trouble over the Ksh1.1 billion controversial Overseas Educational programme in Finland and Canada that has left many parents and students in tears.
