Central Organisation of Trade Unions secretary general Francis Atwoli was yesterday elected as the vice-president of the International Trade Union Confederation for the fourth time.

Atwoli was unanimously elected by over two thousand delegates during the ongoing fifth Congress in Melbourne, Australia.

Cotu deputy secretary-general Benson Okwaro said in a statement Atwoli was elected unopposed, to the seven-member credentials committee, charged with the responsibility to determine who qualifies as a delegate to participate in ITUC elections.

“It also reports on the composition of the various delegations of each country as well as the extent of their individual voting power,” said Okwaro.
