Amisi mocks Gachagua’s political outfit, explains support for former DP
By Achieng' Mary, May 14, 2025Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has shared his reasons for supporting former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s politics.
Issuing a statement where he was mocking the former DP’s political outfit logo, Aims noted that he was only forgiving Gachagua because he was useful in removing President William Ruto in 2027.
He went on to state that with his defiance of the ruling government, Gachagua is on the right side of track and that history will judge him fairly.
“The only reason I forgive #Gachagua is because he is doing the Lords work in helping us remove Kasongo. For that reason, everything he does now is good for the nation, and history will judge him fairly,” he said.
Amisi, however, chastised Gachagua’s political outfit logo stating that it is high time Kenya builds institutionalized parties identifiable in ideologies and principles.
He particularly mocked the symbolics of a hand touching an ear saying short term knee jerk reactions have been the SI unit of Kenya’s political architecture.
“Lakini, we joke a lot in this country. After ground ‘imesikizwa’, the party will die like the wheelbarrow one,another party will emerge with slogan ‘kanyaga mifupa’ with pelvic bone as the symbol and the cycle continues.
“We need to build institutionalised parties identifiable in ideologies and principles that will last across generations and compete on the basis of ideas. Short-term knee jerk reaction has been the SI unit of our political architecture,” he said.
Amisi’s comments come ahead of the unveiling of Gachagua’s party on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
The venue of the event remains unknown as the former DP has remain tight-lipped about crucial details in a move meant to keep off prying state operatives.
