Kileleshwa Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai has paid an emotional tribute to his late colleague Joel Munuve, reflecting on their close working relationship and shared fight against what he has termed irregularities within Nairobi County, one year after Munuve’s death.

In a heartfelt message shared via his official X account on the night of Monday, April 27, 2026, Alai described Munuve as more than just a colleague, referring to him as a “brother from another mother” and recalling the strong bond they built while serving as Nairobi MCAs.

“My brother from another mother, the late Hon Munuve. I pray that you find eternal peace as you continue to rest. Heaven found a gift. I miss you brother,” Alai said.

He added that the two leaders often stood together in confronting issues within the county, hinting at their role in pushing back against what he termed illegalities.

“Two of us would stall all illegalities at the county. I miss you my brother,” he added.

Remembering Munuve

Munuve died on April 22, 2025, while undergoing treatment at a private hospital along Kiambu Road in Nairobi.

His sudden death shocked political colleagues and constituents, many of whom remembered him as a vocal and active ward representative.

During his tenure as Kariobangi North MCA, Munuve was known for his outspoken stance on governance and service delivery issues within the county assembly.

Munuve had clinched the Kariobangi North ward seat as an independent candidate. Despite having Akamba roots, Munuve spoke fluent Luo and was a vocal panellist on Luo media stations.
