Ahmednasir, Kipkorir social media war goes to court

By , November 2, 2022

Arguments on Twitter between Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi and lawyer Donald Kipkorir have now found their way into court after the latter was sued for defamation.

Abdullahi sued Kipkorir over tweets on March 5, claiming they were defamatory and meant to discredit, embarrass and lower his dignity in his capacity as a respected member of the society and Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

But in response, Kipkorir denies defaming the Senior Counsel, insisting that it was Abdullahi who abused, intimidated, threatened and defamed him through his Twitter account.

“The Plaintiff (Abdullahi) has used his Twitter handle to abuse, insult and intimidate all and sundry and me in particular, and therefore has no reputation that he desires to protect and is therefore undeserving of any award of damages and the prayers sought in the plaint,” claimed Kipkorir in response.

In his suit papers, Abdullahi claims the words used by Kipkorir in their ordinary meaning make him appear that he is complicit in corrupt, fraudulent, criminal and immoral activities.
